Getting to the start

So 7a.m. saw us (my co-director and I) setting off in the car with the bike on top for Land's End, some 300 miles from home. As far as Exeter was a route I knew well thanks to 6 months spent in Newton Abbot for work in 2019. The debate as to M4 or M3 was solved in an instant when the M4 turned out to be closed at J13-J14.

Arriving at the hotel 40 minutes before a 3pm check-in found us in the surprising position of being asked to wait to check-in until 3pm despite there being nobody checking out. The actual welcome at 3pm was much more friendly and the rooms at the Land's End Hotel are lovely.

Cornish Rattler cider at 6% soon takes effect

Mena Dhu times 2 = a pre dinner nap

Dinner soon, scallops to start and possibly bouillabaisse for mains.

A good start to the trip.
