Long ride home - Edinburgh to Beverley

I took fewer photographs on leaving Edinburgh and sent my compact SLR home with my friends so these ones are all taken with the phone, still reasonable quality though I think.

Lovely coast at Musellborough

Brutal architecture contrasting with nature.
Fabulous views down the east Coast

A bridge over a bridge
The border between Scotland and England
The wall is on the border

Typical limited menu I have seen on muy travels. The duo of salmon and the sea bass were both very good.
Sorry, finger slightly in the way. Berwick upon Tweed I think.

The view from the adjacent bridge
The Northumberland coast is lovely

A stiff climb on a poor surface to get up onto the cliffs as you leave Berwick upon Tweed on Sustrans route 1.

Sustrans routes vary in quality from smooth tarmac to grass tracks. As I am riding a hybrid it can cope.

Tynemouth Priory and Castle

Can't ignore a windmill

An unusual sculpture
Leaving County Durham over this bridge

A quiet covid testing centre
Nice curves on the bridge
Middlesborough in the throes of lots of new building
The hydraulic clock tower which I much prefer
Taken from the same spot in different directions

The view from my window in Whitby

Whitby Harbour

Dustbin lorry providing useful scale

After leaving Whitby, a lovely ride.
Fylingdales
Friends are looking after my house and garden. Clearly doing a good job.
Going over the Humber Bridge today, got to be worth a photo or two.
