John O'Groats and Inverness to Edinburgh

I had a half day spare in John O'Groats. The views from close to the hotel.

Lovely lodges
The usual distance quoted is 874 but the shortest route has changed over time as roads were changed.
An iconic building and a lovely little harbour

Jellyfish
The Pentland Firth
Ness of Duncansby

I am now an End to Ender

A bee on a thistle
Drunk the beer, got the T-shirt

I like windmills

The kit of a cyclist I met who had been camping and was towing a fair bit of weight
Lots of red squirrels in Scotland

The Slavonian Grebe
The Boat of Garten is near Aviemore
Steam up!

This cycle rack is the heavy duty model.
I have had some lovely views, I think I was headed to the hills so some climbing ahead.
Fun in the rapids, two brave people got dunked here.
Down the left was less rough

I had climbed hills to be this high
Lost my way and found this

 High ground = hard pedalling
Duly warned, the climb to 457m was a gentle one, long but easily managed. I was carrying food, water and protective clothing.
 LEJOG on a beach bike
 More lovely views
Blue plaques always interesting
It isn't black!

A bit of fun
A community garden at Brickhall

A good place for your memorial bench

The Forth bridge I was heading towards but due to cross on the old one
The railway bridge
My route across the Forth
The view from the old bridge, which pedestrians and cyclists are the main users of.

Arriving in Queensferry, a distance marker
Arriving at my friends' flat in Edinburgh
Getting to the end of my 3 day rest. I head towards Berwick-on-Tweed tomorrow, 60 miles.
